An independent, enterprising group, together creating opportunities in the communities of the Outer Hebrides

Who is Third Sector Hebrides?
Third Sector Hebrides (TSH) is a registered Scottish charity whose purpose is to strengthen and support the development of the voluntary sector on the Isle of Lewis.
Being islanders we know the importance of working together. Nobody thrives in isolation and we aim to be a source of information, support and guidance to enable essential, local, grassroots work to thrive.
What is the Third Sector?
The third sector (also known as the voluntary or non-profit sector) is the broad term that covers charities, social enterprises, community groups, co-operatives, development trusts and other non-governmental organisations that have social, environmental, or cultural objectives.

It encompasses organisations that are neither part of the public (government) or private (for-profit) sectors. These organisations operate independently from the state and typically reinvest any surplus funds back into their mission rather than distributing them to owners or shareholders.

We stock good-quality, affordable, pre-loved clothing and every penny spent in our shop remains on the island, invested back into supporting social projects and services for vulnerable people in our community.
